Rules on Soccer Shoes

Deciding on pair of soccer Shoes-n-footwear.com/Shoes.html">Shoes to buy you also have consider and ask the question do they comply to the rules of the game. Another consideration is ball control, not all soccer shoes will match the shape of your feet to give you the best possible ball control. But the most important point you have to consider is whether the referee will allow you to wear the shoes on the soccer pitch.

Back in the sixties soccer shoes resembled steel toe capped Doc Martin Boots. They were not shoes but Boots that had steel studs screwed into the soles. They actually had steel toe caps.

Soccer and soccer shoes have come a long way since those days; today the likes of Nike, Adidas, Puma and Reebok have science labs dedicated to the scientific development of soccer shoes. They sponsor soccer stars such as David Beckham, who wear the shoes in matches there by giving credibility to their performance capabilities. But no matter the manufacturer all soccer shoes have to comply with rule four of the Football Association Soccer Boots.

Rule 4 states;

"A player must not use equipment or wear anything which is dangerous to himself or another player including any kind of jewellery."

“Match Officials are to incorporate a shoes inspection into their pre-match safety check of players’ equipment. This will take place before entry to the field of play immediately prior to the game.”

“Poorly maintained studs or blades on the soles of soccer shoes and boots can constitute a danger. The Referee’s decision is final and players in contravention of this Law must not be allowed to enter the field of play.”

Before choosing your next soccer shoes, have a good look at the sole. If the studs or blades are too soft or if they look as if, after a couple of games, they will wear down so much that they don’t support you on a pitch or if they look as though they might develop sharp edges you may want to reconsider purchasing.
